A Resounding Success.
The Textile Institute of Pakistan (TIP) held its much-anticipated Final Year Student Research Project Poster Presentation at the TIP Display Centre on Friday, May 17, 2024. The event highlighted the innovative and rigorous research projects conducted by our final-year students from various disciplines, including Textile Manufacturing and Marketing, Apparel Manufacturing and Merchandizing, Fashion Design Management, and Textile Sciences.
The poster presentations were evaluated by a distinguished panel of jury members who were impressed by the depth and quality of the student’s research. The ability of the students to effectively communicate their findings and ideas was particularly noteworthy. Esteemed guests from the industry and academia were also present, providing valuable feedback and expressing their appreciation for the dedication shown by the students, their supervisors, and the TIP management.
Among our esteemed guests were Mahjabeen Obaid, Creative Director at Towellers Limited, Adeel Shah, PhD, Head of Supply Chain & Logistics at the Institute of Business Management, and Idrees Bashir, Laboratory Manager at Lucky Textile Mills Ltd. Their presence and insights added immense value to the event, bridging the gap between academic research and industry application.
Mahjabeen Obaid, with her extensive experience in creative direction at Towellers Limited, praised the students for their innovative approach and creativity. Her feedback highlighted the importance of aesthetic and functional integration in textile design, inspiring students to think beyond conventional boundaries.
Dr. Adeel Shah, a renowned expert in supply chain and logistics with a PhD in Sustainability, emphasized the importance of sustainable practices in textile manufacturing and marketing. His insights on integrating sustainability into supply chain operations were particularly enlightening, encouraging students to consider environmental impacts in their future endeavors.
Idrees Bashir, with his vast experience as a Laboratory Manager at Lucky Textile Mills Ltd, appreciated the scientific rigor and practical implications of the research projects.
