Textile Institute of Pakistan & NIZAM Announce Collaboration

Textile Institute of Pakistan and H.Nizamdin & Sons Private Limited (NIZAM) signed a collaboration on campus on October, 12, 2022.

It is a cooperation between both parties to collaborate for the time period of 24 months titled as: ‘Circular Economy for Humanitarian Aid Products: A Sustainable Transition for Pakistan Manufacturing and Packaging Disaster Relief Blankets.’  This project is co-funded by the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ) and commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Development and Cooperation.

With clients from across the globe, NIZAM serves quality conscious world market. Their team has sourced and developed globally quality materials, best practices in manufacturing and innovated processes in order to provide extraordinary value to their clientele.

Textile Institute of Pakistan (TIP), which is one of the leading textile institutes in the country for almost three decades, will develop in collaboration with the University of Engineering and Technology (NED), two Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) for the conventional product version and for the sustainable alternative to make the optimization of the disaster relief blankets measurable.With the LCA, the potential environmental impacts throughout the entire life cycle of the high thermal blankets (production, distribution, use and end-of-life phases) will be assessed and evaluated.

H. Nizam Din & Sons Private Limited (NIZAM) will cooperate as a key partner for industry wide capacity building and training. Throughout the project duration, lessons learned and knowledge will be shared through training, joint webinars, and a guideline manual.
